A shortened version of the article “WHAT’S A META FOR? DESIGNING AND DELIVERING THERAPEUTIC METAPHORS”. In this workshop participants will explore the rich world of indirection, metaphor, and symbol systems in theory and in practice in small groups. A special focus is the search for a symbol or metaphor that is close and diverse enough from the client system to introduce a congruent but meaningful departure into a new paradigm of possibilities. A focus on the delivery of metaphors assists their power by embedding them in a naturalistic hypnotic induction format.
